When the title of the new (and supposedly final) Assassin’s Creed game was leaked during the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Unity, the community was eagerly waiting for more information. We just got a little taste of what’s to come. It just so happens that what we got was a statement that said information was, well, coming.
“More info on that soon” was a quote from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot during an investor call. He would aptly add, “It will come soon.”
Ubisoft’s Tony Key was quoted at E3 acknowledging the die-hard Assassin’s Creed fans and their lust for another platform title, stating Ubisoft hasn’t forgotten about them. He cites resource constraints as the main reason they haven’t given much more information about the platform version, stating they can’t create a brand new title “only out of love” and purely for the sake of the fanbase.
The name of the title is essentially what we (kind of) know about it. It’s rumored to be called Assassin’s Creed Comet, set in North America. That’s about it. For now, we’ll have to wait. But as soon as more information sneaks up on us from the shadows, we will be sure to report it.
