Inspired by Pokémon Snap which was released on the Nintendo 64, Nintendo has officially announced New Pokémon Snap will be available on the Nintendo Switch come April 20. The new game, which isn’t being described as a sequel, takes placed in new region called Lental. The region features an archipelago of islands that includes jungles, beaches, deserts where over 200 Pokémon are hiding. Check out the trailer below.

New Pokémon Snap will have the same play style as Pokémon Snap did on the N64 with players using bait to try and lure out Pokémon before taking a picture of them. Professor Oak will give you a grade on your photography as you work to uncover the mystery behind the Illumina phenomenon, which gives some Pokémon and the vegetation in the region a strange special glow.

New Pokémon Snap will be available on the Nintendo Switch April 20, 2021.
