Horizon: Zero Dawn Presents a Unique Clash Between the Prehistoric and Futuristic Eras

The upcoming game Playstation game,Horizon: Zero Dawn, displays a world where robotic creatures and machinery fit in normally in a prehistoric nature setting.

In a recent gameplay trailer released at E3, Horizon: Zero Dawn’s main character Aloy, is shown admiring an expansive landscape. Similar to that of Skyrim, the backdrop looked like a vast map that would allow an infinite amount of exploration of the mountains and forests before the character.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is said to be an open-world game where players can explore the landscape that will be what seems to be a normal prehistoric world that also contains a variety of machinery. Guerilla Games seemingly combines this prehistoric world with a modern/futuristic world and it looks like the two complement each other quite well.

The gameplay features the hunter, Aloy, who runs through the brush of the world following robotic creatures that inhabit the land. Aloy only possesses a bow and arrow as well as a knife for her weaponry when she is pinned up against futuristic robots. Aloy is able to attack a small robot as if it is a normal animal and it almost squeals like a real animal displaying the concept of how these robot animals are simply in the place of normal animals. Along with the small animal Aloy attacked with a knife, the video also displayed Aloy taking down a larger robot with her bow and arrow similarly to how a hunter would take down a large animal.

The game presents a very unique perspective around man made-robots and unaffected nature being able to coexist normally without the concept of an apocalyptic machine world. The character is dressed in animal furs and cloths and takes down the futuristic enemies with historically man-made weapons. It’s a very interesting concept for a game that essentially bridges the gap between a medieval/prehistoric era and a futuristic machine era. The game is definitely one of a kind and is sure to have a variety of unique features when it is released next year.
