Here are a Dozen Games Featuring the Late Leonard Nimoy

Live Long and Prosper Indeed.

GameSpot has put together a list of 13 games (okay, so one more than a dozen) that feature Spock, aka Leonard Nimoy. Or is it the other way around? Anyway, the list was to honor the late Nimoy after he fell victim to a disease he has kept close the chest physically and metaphorically. Here is that list:

Star Trek Pinball (1979) Although not the most popular of the Star Trek pinball games, this version features the science officer on the front.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) When 3D platforms ruled, Atlantis stood tall with the big boys. With full cut senses from the movie, and Nimoy’s perfect performance as the forlorn King Kashekim.

Star Trek: The Rebel Universe (1987) It’s still notable as one of the first games (in 1987) to feature Nimoy’s full likeness in glorious sprite art.

Iron Brigade (2011) Double Fine gives Leonard Nimoy the double-fingered salute with their Tiki Mask upgrade.

Star Trek Bridge Commander (2002) This super absorbing Star Trek game creates a realistic simulation of a captain discharging orders and taking on an enemy fleet.

Seaman (1999) One of the weirdest games ever was also features the voice of Leonard Nimoy. His voice guides you as you raise your ugly human faced fish which you talk to via microphone.seaman_1

Sid Meier’s Civilization IV (2005) As the great Vulcan Vociferates, “One man in his time plays many parts.” Nimoy’s voice is perfect fit for the advancing of technology and the human progress.

Star Trek: Judgment Rites (1993) The smash hit of the 90‘s, Judgment Rites picks up right where the 25th anniversary adventure game left off.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (2010) Feel the darkness! In this game Nimoy’s range of voice talent is showcased as the villain Master Xehanort

Minecraft (2009) You can build anything on Minecraft, and this to-scale fan replica of the USS Enterprise NCC 1071 is a perfect salute to Spock.

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (1992) With Spock’s views on violence in mind, this combat-puzzle NES game focuses more on thoughtful thinking. For such an early title game, if really keeps with the spirit of the show.

Dying Light (2015) In the zombie-infested ocean of Harran is where we find Dying Light’s eerie and oddly timed homage to Spock.

Star Trek Online (2010) Although you never really see him, Nimoy’s voice welcomes you to each new section of the game. As a tribute, the inhabitants of the game gathered to honor the actors passing.

Leonard Nimoy will forever be remembered for his portrayal as Spock. He will live on in the hearts of Star Trek fans young and old.

Of all the souls I have encountered on my travels, his was the most…… human.” – Captain Kirk
