With a touch of something new and old, Star Trek: Discovery could be a success.
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]espite many problems the show faced since it was announced back in 2015, Star Trek: Discovery is well on its way to be released during the fall of this year (Or at least that is what CBS wants everyone to think) and so the first trailer for the show is finally here.
Staring Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham and Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou, Star Trek: Discovery will take place ten years before Kirk, Spock, and the Starship Enterprise were introduced. Running on a subscription only based platform from CBS, the first episode of the series will be aired on television before switching over to CBS All Access where all subsequent episodes will be made available. The show’s first trailer puts the series in a promising light by introducing a new crew, a new alien race, and the infamous Klingons. However, with a subscription only based platform it is doubtful that the show will do as well as it would if it aired on CBS.
