[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he E3 preview of Far Cry 4 started many excited conversations. This iteration of the series takes place in the mountainous region of Kyrat ruled by a ruthless, slightly unhinged despot and looks to be a solid follow up to Far Cry 3. Three factors made Far Cry 3 the success that it was: the environment, the villain, and the story. Far Cry 4 already boasts 2 of the 3 ingredients that have proved faithful to Ubisoft previously.
While the story behind the protagonist, Ajay Ghale doesn’t go beyond his returning to Kyrat to scatter his mother’s ashes, we do have an introduction to our villain, Pagan Min. With plenty of destructables, animals, and beautiful scenery, Kyrat appears to be a rewarding location to explore and stir up mayhem. It is also wonderful to see gameplay mechanics beloved by many from Far Cry 3 making a reprise, namely the gritty, in-your-face melee kills. See for yourself in the gameplay video below.
