James Bond will be “not as sexist and misogynistic” in Spectre, says Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig hopes that when people look back on his role as 007, people will view his character as a gentleman.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen you think of James Bond, aka 007, a lot of descriptions probably come to mind. Bad ass, sexy, undercover agent, cold-blooded killer, anything that describes a man who has saved the world dozens of times and woos women on the side. However, Daniel Craig believes his portrayal of Bond casts a different image than the one that Pierce Brosnan captured when he played the role of MI-6’s top agent.

In a recent interview with Esquire Daniel Craig talked about how he sees his own portrayal of James Bond and who his character is as a person.

“He’s very f**king lonely,” commented Daniel Craig. “There’s a great sadness. He’s f**king these beautiful women but then they leave and it’s… sad. And as a man gets older, it’s not a good look.”

The world certainly has changed since Sean Connery took on the role of James Bond and Daniel Craig believes his Bond is vastly different from those who came before him.

“Hopefully my Bond is not as sexist and misogynistic as [earlier incarnations],” Daniel Craig said. “The world has changed. I am certainly not that person. But he is, and so what does that mean? It means you cast great actresses and make the parts as good as you can for the women in the movies.”

Daniel Craig stars as everyone’s favorite MI-6 agent in Spectre, which hits theaters November 6th of this year.
