After much anticipation, Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed Shadows with a captivating cinematic trailer, showcasing an intriguing dual protagonist setup. Set in feudal Japan, the game introduces players to Yasuke, Japan’s first African samurai (a real historical figure), and Naoe, a skilled female shinobi. Take a look for yourself at the world premier trailer below:

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will live the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend. Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this remarkable duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.

This latest installment, developed by Ubisoft Quebec, continues the studio’s tradition of offering players dual protagonists, as seen in previous titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. With Shadows, players can seamlessly switch between Yasuke and Naoe, each with their unique abilities and playstyles. Yasuke embodies the brute force of a samurai, while Naoe employs stealth and agility as a shinobi assassin.

The trailer provides a glimpse into the vast and visually stunning world of feudal Japan, promising players the opportunity to explore diverse landscapes, from bustling castle towns to serene shrines, all set against the backdrop of unpredictable weather and changing seasons.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players will unlock new skills, gear, and progression independently for each character. Additionally, they can establish a network of spies across Japan, leveraging the unique abilities of different allies to accomplish missions and unravel the game’s narrative.
