The next chapter in the ongoing saga for Master Chief promises to be his “greatest yet”, but what challenges will we face?

If you are unable to check out the trailer, have no worries. You really aren’t missing much. The trailer takes some time before revealing that it is indeed a Halo title, with beautiful and serene landscapes with calm soothing music. Until it picks up and the music starts to sound more Halo-y. The Master Chief is revealed, along with a Halo ring, for a brief moment, along with the USMC, but no gameplay was shown. As for what we can expect from the new entry in the series, Aaron Greenberg stepped in to expand on that a little bit.

This is an entirely new chapter in the Halo saga. What we did was an in-engine demonstration. The Slipspace engine is new. 343 has built this purposefully to take Halo in a whole new direction. It’s a story that centers on Master Chief. I think you saw visually some of the capabilities of the engine. We’re excited to share more, but for now: There’s a new Halo coming, it’s Halo Infinite and it features really a focus on Master Chief, which I think will be really received well by the fans.Aaron Greenberg, games marketing GM for Xbox

After large community feedback regarding Halo 5- fans were wanting a title that focused more on Master Chief, and not other characters to drive forward the plot and or the campaign (Locke). 343 Industries Chris Lee confirms that this will be the case in Infinite, focusing specifically on MC and what follows after the events of H5.

The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. Developed by 343 Industries and created with our new Slipspace Engine, Halo Infinite was revealed at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing with a thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise, leading it into new and unexpected directions.
