Don’t worry, there’s a good reason for the Final Fantasy XV delay.
Final Fantasy players around the world are starting to get restless as the 15th installment of the RPG series has received a recent delay. However, Director Hajime Tabata addressed the frustrations in a recent interview to talk about the 2 month delay.
While many game bugs in recent game releases have been related to player progress in the game, Tabata has claimed that many of the bugs are majority visual based. Among these are “various bugs” that have caused frame drops below 30 FPS which is the frame rate that game developer Square Enix is shooting for. Another bug that has been released is visual based that includes “characters floating unnaturally in the air or appearing all strange.” One final point was added to his patch notes that included a need to “refine the game balance”. No further details explained what this means for players, but Tabata does not seem to be messing around with the 2 month delay.
Tabata and the developers brought the recent delay to light in an attempt to avoid the player dreaded “day one patch”. According to Tabata, many gamers, specifically in Japan, have consoles and many have substantial internet access, but sometimes players do not possess both simultaneously. This would definitely bring some serious frustrations during a patch.
Tabata has expressed his deepest apologies and said that “we kindly ask for your understanding.”
Players can expect Final Fantasy XV to hit the shelves on November 29th, 2016.
