With his Red Viper days behind him, Pedro Pascal joins the cast of the stylish comedy spy-caper sequel.
[dropcap size=small]H[/dropcap]ype has steadily been growing around the upcoming sequel to the hilariously successful spy-caper, Kingsman: The Secret Service. We’ve had teasers, release dates, and a little hint that Colin Firth might be returning as the suave, butt-kicking Harry Hart in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Now we’ve gotten word of a new addition to the cast. Deadline reports that Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal is said to be cast as a character thought to be called Jack Daniels (maybe he’s a whisky man).
We don’t know much about how Pascal’s character will be involved in the film, or what his role will entail, but Pascal will be joining leading-man Taron Egerton, Julianne Moore, Mark Strong, and – potentially – Colin Firth in the next instalment. There are also rumours that Halle Berry will make an appearance.
Pascal recently tweeted about the news, expressing that he is ‘very happy’ to be involved. The tweet was then shortly followed by a snap of himself alongside ‘Eggsy’ (Taron Egerton) on his Instagram account.
Pascal portrayed the grandiose Oberyn Martell (aka Red Viper of Dorne) superbly in George R.R. Martin’s epic TV series. His time – like many great GoT characters – was cruelly cut short in a pretty grim way in season four. It was sad to see the charmer go.
Pascal is a stellar addition to the cast, and we have every hope he will bring something fun to the table.
We look forward to learning more about the film as news develops, as well as how Pascal’s character will turn out. And we really do hope Firth will be back. Harry Hart, we love you.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to hit theatres 16 June, 2017.
