Director Bryan Singer teases that he might go with original comic book costumes!
[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]ust like in X-Men: First Class, the X-Men might be sporting their retro yellow costumes in X-Men: Apocalypse. In recent movies made since the release of X-Men in 2000, the X-Men wore dark leather uniforms, with most of them having an X in the middle of their chest. In a Yahoo! Q&A, Director Bryan Singer teased about the X-Men going back to traditional costumes that they wore when first released in the comics.
“In X-Men: First Class, which I produced and wrote the story for, we hark back to the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics. I will say that in X-Men: Apocalypse, there is a chance – without giving anything away – that you may get closer to seeing what I think, Mr. X-Men News, you are interested in seeing. I know it’s something that I’ve been interested in, I just always wanted to do it the right way.”
There are a couple characters who have already revealed what their costume will look like. Olivia Munn as Psylocke in her tight-fit fighting costume and Lana Condor as Jubilee sporting a yellow coat. Apocalypse, the main enemy for the X-Men in the movie, will look similar to what he looked like in the comic book series with abnormal armor and his cape. As the release of the movie comes closer, we should expect to see more costumes in the near future!
X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in theaters on May 27, 2016!
