With his Joey Tribbiani days long behind him, Matt Le Blanc teams up with The Stig.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]t’s been a pretty turbulent time for the car centric show, Top Gear. After the rocky relationship of Jeremy Clarkson and the BBC reached new heights, Clarkson left the show behind along with co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May.
Their departure signalled a new era for the show, which is set to return this month with three brand new hosts. Chris Evans – a popular BBC radio presenter here in the UK – will be fronting the revamped show, alongside Friends star, Matt Le Blanc. Le Blanc is apparently a self confessed ‘gear head,’ who’s excited to be taking the new show forward.
Completing the new trio alongside Evans and Le Blanc is German racing driver Sabine Schmitz. Having a female host in the mix for the first time is simply fantastic, and of course, we’ll be seeing the return of ‘The Stig.’
Hopefully the new hosts will inject the show with a nice dose of freshness and successfully revive it after the messy end of the last. The three new hosts do have a nice balance, and it’s great to see a mixture of nationalities come together to celebrate their love for all things car related.
Le Blanc is sure to add his signature charm and humour, and having been a guest on Top Gear previously, it’s clear that he’s a big fan – his evident enthusiasm is sure to give the shows return a much needed boost.

The show is set to premier on the BBC in the UK (as well as 50 other countries), May 29th, and will debut in the US on BBC America the following day, May 30th.
