Cowabunga?!?! The mean green fighting machines are the latest to crossover into the hit DC fighting game.
And just like that Injustice 2 has become the Super Smash Bros. of comic book fighting games. Over the weekend, it was revealed that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be a downloadable character part of the Injustice 2′s Fighter Pack 3 DLC. The Turtles will be joined by Atom and the Enchantress.
Atom (who was previously revealed) and Enchantress aren’t too farfetched as DLC fighters, as they are DC characters, but TMNT?!? They are owned by Nickelodeon, and Paramount. How did this happen?
Anyway, details are still sparse on how the Turtles will play in the game. In the trailer, Leonardo tells Michelangelo that “we fight as a team,” leading to speculation that the player only controls one turtle at a time, and swaps out with the other three.

Although the Turtles have a lengthy history of appearing in video games, and have crossed over with DC characters in the comics before, this announcement is still incredibly significant, as it furthers Injustice 2‘s identity as fighting game that celebrates comic book characters. Along with Hellboy, who was revealed in the last Fighter Pack, the inclusion of these characters seemingly opens the doors for characters outside the DC universe to join the fray, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what happens next.
Fighter Pack 3 does not have a release date yet. It will be available as DLC, or free for those who own Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition.
