The next installment in Telltale Game’s The Walking Dead franchise has been announced, The Walking Dead: Michonne!
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he latest addition to the The Walking Dead franchise will not only feature a cast member from the comics/tv show, but it will be a three-part mini series. A blog on Telltale Games’ website describes The Walking Dead: Michonne as a game that “stars the iconic character from the comic book series haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret.”
The Walking Dead franchise first began back in 2012 with The Walking Dead: The Game and The Walking Dead: Season One. Since then, Telltale Games has released another series in addition to a miniseries that follow the show in season segments. And just like the comic books and the show, the games were immensely popular. The first season won several Game of the Year Awards from multiple outlets.
According to Telltale Games, they chose Michonne because they wanted a character that would bring the games much closer to the comic books. Creator Robert Kirman said, ” “In many ways, Michonne herself is a reflection of the world of The Walking Dead. She is brutal and cold on the outside, but deep beneath what is broken, she remains hopeful, trying to claw her way out of the darkness that surrounds her.”
There is a small catch to acquiring The Walking Dead: Michonne. You have to own a copy of the first episode of The Walking Dead: Season 2 to play this three-part mini series.
Keep an eye out for The Walking Dead: Michonne. The game will be released this fall for PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
