Roy’s our boy!
The cast of the upcoming Power Rangers reboot film continues to grow, as The Hollywood Reporter revealed that David Denman will play Sam Scott, father of Jason Scott, the Red Ranger.
Denman is best known as playing Roy Anderson, Pam’s schlubby ex-fiance in the US version of The Office. Since then, he has appeared in a number of films, including The Gift and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
The original Red Ranger’s father from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series didn’t have much a presence, but in the film, he will reportedly be “often at odds with his son over Jason’s football career.” Typical dad, always stressing football over Power Rangering.
Denman joins Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, R.J. Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, and Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger.
