A recent report from CNBC reveals that Disney+ stock is surging with the massive success of Disney+ is seeing in just under 24 hours. According to their report, Disney announced that they are seeing an incredible response for their streaming service, hitting well over 10 million subscribers in less than a day.

Good news for those who have some Disney stock, and probably good news for those that have subscribed to the service who are looking forward to streaming their favorite Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar content. However, if you were hoping that the recent Spider-Man movies would make it under the Marvel umbrella, think again.

According to sources, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home will not be making it to the Disney-led streaming service. Ricky Strauss, the head of marketing and content for Disney+, stated that while they currently have no plans to pursue those movies as a part of their own service, who knows what can happen in the future. Here is the full quote:

“We love our friends at Sony, but we don’t have any plans to have the live-action Spider-Man movies on Disney+. We will have all the Spider-Man animated shows that we did so they’ll be on there under the Marvel banner. But who knows what can happen in the future?”

Spider-Man is not the only MCU character with movies that aren’t on Disney+, as Netflix has a deal that secures a handful of movies on their platform through 2019, but will then head over to D+ for exclusive streaming. These titles are

  • Black Panther
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp
  • Avengers: Infinity War
  • Thor: Ragnarok

On top of these MCU titles, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is also available on Netflix through the remainder of the year, but will then join the other seven Skywalker films, exclusively on Disney+.

You can sign up for Disney+ here, for $6.99 per month. Below is a list of Star Wars and Marvel content that is currently available, with exclusive content coming at a later time.
