[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]ans of the popular hit BBC show Sherlock will find solace in knowing that Cumberbatch and Freeman will return in a fourth season as Sherlock and Watson, respectively.
The series, which was met with critical widespread praise, has an average of 8-10 million viewers in the UK, reaching well beyond 11 million viewers for season 3 alone. This is not counting any regions outside of the UK, making it a wise choice for a 4th season.
Initially, the announcement for the fourth season was shared by BBC on July 2, 2014, but that has not stopped BBC from teasing us more and more in any form they choose. This time, a photo was posted on their official Twitter account, showing off the lead actors with the hashtags #Sherlock and #NotKidding, likely making sure fans are aware that they are in fact working on plans for the next 3 episodes to air in 2016.

2016 is still more than a year away, but we will see Sherlock and Watson together again in a 2015 Christmas special… Which is also more than a year away. However, production will start in just over a month, so that is something.
Alas, if fans want more Sherlock, they will have to wait a while unless they want to try other ways to satisfy their Sherlock addictions.
Of course, each and every season is available to stream on online services like Netflix, or you can pick up the entire series on Blu-Ray, if you are a super fan.
In addition to the above, there is an official Sherlock App in the iTunes Store, Sherlock: The Network. The app, which features Sherlock, Watson, and Mycroft, comes in the form of a game with 10 new cases that players can navigate through the streets of London and find clues to solve mysteries. Download the App for free here.
