Brian Henson takes his puppets to new, darker territory
[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]amie Foxx is in early talks to play the lead role in Brian Henson’s: The Happy Time Murders, an R-rated cop comedy that takes place in a world where puppets and humans co-exist. The film will follow the “puppets that fuck” formula made popular by the likes of Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
If he accepts the role, Foxx will play the role of LAPD Detective Edwards. Edwards will have to team up with a hard-drinking puppet private eye in order to solve a string of murders.
The film will certainly be a darker turn for the Jim Henson Company. Apparently Henson himself had told one of the original writers back in 2009 to write:
“all the puppet sex, violence, and cursing you can put in there”

Even though the script has been rewritten several times (the newest revision is being penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber) the puppet comedy is sure to be original, funny and absolutely not “fun for the whole family.”
