Some more patience will be required before this game is released!

[toggler title=”TL:DR” ]Mighty No. 9 experiences another delay. Backers are not pleased with yet another setback. Mighty No. 9 producer is former Mega Man producer Keiji Inafune. Backers who contributed at least $80 have only tried out the beta.[/toggler]

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]oward the end of August, it was announced that Mighty No. 9’s release would be delayed until 2016. As an apology, developer Comcept promised fans a special one-month only demo of the game that was supposed to come out on September 15 for backers who helped fund the game. Unfortunately for those backers, the demo itself has also been delayed. A statement was released by Comcept about the delay on their website:

“Finally, we know that all of our fans are looking forward to the Special Demo Version we are preparing, and we just ask that you be a little more patient,” it reads. “The team is working on it, but some issues popped up regarding the distribution method so there is a good chance it will not be ready to launch by the 15th. We are really sorry for the inconvenience.

“As soon as we have more info, we will let everyone know immediately.”

Backers are not pleased by this latest setback because the delay was announced on an unrelated post on their website at the bottom of the story. An update has been posted on Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter page, but multiple backers have commented on the page saying they never got an email, saying there would be a delay on the game.

The comments by users are fueled by a combination of confusion and anger towards Comcept after this delay. One user commented: “On the bright side, Comcept will never be able to raise a successful crowdfunding campaign again, Hopefully, people will remember this mess.”

Mighty No. 9 is the next Mega Man, from the looks of it. That statement makes sense since the gameplay is similar and the project lead is Mega Man producer Keiji Inafune, who reached out to Kickstarter in 2013 for funding. Since then, more than $3.8 million was raised, but the constant delays have this game already feeling like a disappointing investment for backers (the original release date for Mighty No. 9 was in April 2015.) The backers only real look at the game has been through the beta, which was only available to those who contributed at least $80.

We will update you on the release date of Mighty No. 9 when it is announced! Mighty No. 9 will be available on all platforms!
