The Transporter will rejoin Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel in the 2017 sequel.
[toggler title=”TL;DR” ]Jason Statham confirms he will return as Deckard Shaw in Furious 8.[/toggler]
[dropcap size=small]N[/dropcap]ow that Furious 7 has become the third highest-grossing movie ever, there was always going to be an eighth instalment. What was less clear is who would be returning. Collider reports that Jason Statham is confirmed to return as Deckard Shaw, the brother of Luke Evans’ FF6 villain who became the antagonist for the seventh film.
Shaw was defeated at the hands of Johnson and Vin Diesel in Furious 7, but that doesn’t mean he’s gone for good.
‘We’re already talking about doing another one. I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another one.’
We won’t know much about how Shaw will be reintroduced into the fold until 2017. All we know at this stage is that Statham will rejoin Dwayne Johnson and the rest of the ‘central family’ of the Furious films, and we can even expect Brian O’Conner to play a role in the storyline, in tribute to the late Paul Walker, as in Furious 7.
The initial release date for Furious 8 is set at April 14th, 2017.
