Indie Game Spotlight: Blek

on

Blek is a unique experience that mixes dexterity with mental horsepower. At its core it is a puzzle game, but through its design, it becomes something much more. The basic mechanics of Blek require the player to create a gesture that then continues to travel through the screen repeating the movements of the original gesture, as well as continuing on the same trajectory. This means you must complete the level with a single gesture, which can up the intensity of the game very quickly. The player’s goal in creating a gesture is to set it on a course to burst all of the colored dots on the screen. However, if the gesture collides with a black dot, the gesture is sucked into the black hole and the entire level is reset.

What makes Blek so appealing is the fact the player can truly solve each level however they see fit. And that’s what separates Blek from other puzzlers, you have the real freedom to use your imagination to come up with different ways to solve each level. With that freedom available to you, it makes conquering the exceedingly difficult higher levels infinitely more rewarding. For those of you who enjoy cerebral gaming or a good challenge, this is for you.

Blek is developed and produced by kunabi brother and is currently only available for iOS with the Android version coming soon. Check out the developer video below to see the game in action. It’s mechanics are smooth and UI is sleek. For $2.99 it’s definitely worth the buy to turn those frequent boring parts of your day into an mind-engaging puzzlefest.
