You’re still a money-maker, Harry!
[dropcap size=small]Y[/dropcap]ears after a new Harry Potter film or book has been released comes the hit play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Set 19 years after the events of Deathly Hallows, the play centers on Harry – who’s now an employee at the Ministry of Magic – and his son, Albus Severus Potter. The eighth written installment to Harry’s story was recently released as a published version of the rehearsal script and not a novelization of the play. Fortunately, fans of the boy who lived did not care about that fact.
Rapid fans of Rowling’s fantastical franchise have bought up the print copies of Jack Thorne’s script at a ridiculous rate. Scholastic Publishing has reported that $3.3 million copies have been sold in the U.S. and Canada alone. Additionally, 850, 000 copies were sold in the United Kingdom, totalling over 4 million copies already. This is not including any of the totals from the e-book sales, which are undoubtedly as impressive for sure.
