[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]f bustin’ makes you feel good, how about slicing some fruit? In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, developer Halfbrick has decided to honor the cult classic film by giving its popular mobile game Fruit Ninja a new Ghostbusters-themed update to the app just in time for Halloween.

The game’s characters have strapped on their Proton Packs, Ecto Goggles, and iconic jumpsuits all in the name of cutting up fruit full of psychokinetic energy. Have a look at a few screenshots below.

The new “Ghostbusters Blade” is the Proton Pack itself, so players can get an authentic feel for teaming up with Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddermore…if their mission was to cut some ghostly fruit. Don’t worry, it’s OK to cross the streams in the game because it will help you destroy fruit and gain points without even having to swipe across the screen.

Players have the ability to choose the “Ghostbusters Dojo” location in the game, which fans will recognize as the River of Slime in New York City’s abandoned Pneumatic Transit System from Ghostbusters II. Be on the lookout for floating ghost traps as they will release more fruit to create combos and gain bonus points.

The game will be sure to leave you happier than Slimer in a hot dog cart at Rockefeller Plaza. Who you gonna call!?

The Ghostbusters update for Fruit Ninja is currently available for iOS and Android.
