‘Ice Age 5: Far Cry Primal’ will hit consoles this winter.

The next entry in Ubisoft’s flagship first-person shooter series Far Cry has been revealed. Get ready to travel back to the Stone Age this winter in Far Cry Primal.

Primal, which is set in 10,000 BC, will be a single-player experience where you plays as Takkar, a hunter tasked with the goal of surviving in a dangerous prehistoric area called Oros.

In order to survive, Takkar must craft weapons and tools, hunt creatures like woolly mammoths and saber-toothed tigers, and fight off rival tribes.

Check out the reveal trailer below:

Jean-Christophe Guyot, the game’s creative director, explained to Gamespot why the Stone Age was chosen as the setting to Primal.

Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless, and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself.”

Through the last couple of entries in the series, specifically 3 and Blood Dragon, Ubisoft has proved that Far Cry is a top-tier franchise in the open world first-person genre.

With a promising and unique setting, hopefully Primal will deliver.

Far Cry Primal comes to PS4 and Xbox One on February 23, 2016. A PC version will release in March.
