Nintendo says they had nothing to do with cancelling the show.

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]n unlicensed Legend of Zelda series has been cancelled, but producer Michael Patch posted on Facebook that Nintendo did not write a cease and decease order to Patch. The reason that it was cancelled was because after sending out an informal survey to the community for feedback, the majority said that they did not want the campaign to continue.

“Though I have not received a [cease and desist order], out of respect for Nintendo, and due to few incriminating crowds, (though it was maybe only 30% of people who commented) I am ending the Zeldamotion journey,” he said. “To the other 70% of you, I give you my sincerest thanks. You made me feel like I was more than just some guy making fan art. You are the ones I did this for.”

The series was supposed to be a continuation between Patch and his production studio, Aeipathy Industries on the Zeldamation Youtube series. Patch was asking for $24,000 through Kickstarter

Earlier this year, Nintendo announced that they were working with Netflix to create a live-action exclusive Zelda show. But in late spring, Nintendo explained that not everything you read on the internet is true.
