Radcliffe is open to bringing the magic back to our big screens someday.
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter J.K. Rowling announced we would be getting another slice of her wizarding world with the stage play Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, it was inevitable that fans would begin to fantasise about seeing the famous wizard return to the big screen.
Unfortunately Rowling put to rest the idea of the play getting made into a movie via twitter not too long ago, but many will be happy to know that Mr. Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, isn’t completely closed off to the idea of reprising the role which shot him to fame.
In a recent interview with Radio Times, Radcliffe explained he would be on board with playing the famous wizard if the right script came along:
“It would depend on the script. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying, ‘No,’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”
Ford has reprised two of his seminal roles in recent years, with his latest reprisal of course being Han Solo in Force Awakens last year; three decades after he filled Solo’s shoes in Return of the Jedi. Maybe we won’t be seeing Radcliffe as Potter any time soon, but the fact that he’s open to it means the possibility is there, and that’s something.
For the time being we’ll just have to settle for seeing Radcliffe perform a different kind of magic in his latest role in the crime comedy Now You See Me 2, which is currently playing in theatres.
