Details of Alleged TMNT Game from Activision May Have Leaked Online

The team behind The Wonderful 101 could be bringing the Half-Shell Heroes back to consoles.

A ratings website has seemingly confirmed that a brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game may be coming soon.

An entry on the Australian Classifications Board reveals Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, a new game published by Activision, and developed by Platinum Games.

Platinum Games is best known for their flashy, over the top action games like Bayonetta and Vanquish, but they have recently developed a number of licensed games like The Legend of Korra and Transformers: Devastation. Currently, they are developing Star Fox: Zero with Nintendo for the Wii U, Scalebound for Xbox One, and Nier: Automata for the PS4.

Interestingly, the leaked post also revealed that the game will be ‘M’ rated, for “mild impact themes, moderate impact violence, and mild impact language.”

As the Turtles currently have both an animated show and live-action film series both aimed at children, it will be interesting to see if this supposed game will remain Mature rated.

The last video game from the TMNT franchise was the critically panned brawler Out of the Shadows for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Hopefully, if this new game is real, it can redeem TMNT’s long and memorable video game lineage.

If not, we’ll just go back to playing Turtles in Time.
