Dead Island 2 is back in development again!
[dropcap size=small]P[/dropcap]ublisher Deep Silver has said that developer Sumo Digital will be taking over development for Dead Island 2. Sumo Digital has previously worked on the Disney Infinity and Little Big Planet series. Deep Silver had been working with Yager Productions on the project but they separated in 2015 over a “difference in vision for the game”. Deep Silver had delayed Dead Island 2 until 2016 after they pulled the game out of E3 2015. The game was originally scheduled to come out in spring 2015 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. A collection of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide has been scheduled for a release this May to tide gamers over until the project is finished.
Hopefully, Sumo Digital will do right by the Dead Island name. Judging by their past games the project is in good hands and Dead Island 2 will be a worthwhile addition to the series.
Dead Island 2 does not have a release date yet but Deep Silver has said that it is still on track for a 2016 release.
