During that time, the studio hired David Callaham to write the script for the sequel while under Ruben Fleischer’s supervision, who will return to direct the sequel. Callaham wrote scripts for the Expendables movies, as well as the reboot of Godzilla.
As far as the cast goes, no one truly knows who will be back and who will be new. The main cast for Zombieland comprised of Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin. Eisenberg confirmed in March that there have been efforts to make another movie and he would be on board with a sequel.
An attempt was made to make this a TV show when Amazon asked for a pilot episode about three years ago. The show didn’t pan out, but it showed that there was interest in extending the story further than just one movie.
