Warner Bros. and BBC are in Talks to Bring Doctor Who to ‘Lego Movie 2’

Knock knock. Who’s there? Doctor. Doctor Who? Doctor Who in the Lego Movie Sequel.

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Lego Movie that hit the big screens back in February 2014 was a smash hit success, and delighted kids and adults alike with its classic Lego humour, and entertaining, action-packed plot.

With this success in mind, it’s very unsurprising to hear that a sequel is to inevitably follow, but what is a surprise – and a rather nice one at that – is the possible addition of Lego Doctor Who in the upcoming movie.

Warner Bros. and the BBC are said to be in talks to allow for the Doctor to feature in the upcoming sequel. Since they have already collaborated this year, by bringing Peter Capaldi’s Doctor Who into the most recent Lego game to hit consoles, Lego Dimensions, this possible addition to the Lego team seems pretty likely.

Rob Schrab, Director of the Lego Movie sequel, is said to have let slip about this little addition on the Harmontown Podcast, but didn’t reveal too much about the project or the Doctor’s role.

Whether it’ll just be a small cameo, or a large part, we won’t know how the Doctor fits into it all for quite some time – everything is obviously being kept very hush hush about the sequel, and since it’s not due to hit theatres until 2018, they’re only in the early stages of getting the project together.

Still, in which ever way the Doctor features into the new sequel, it’s sure to be a delight to behold, because, after all, it is Lego we’re talking about.

The Lego Movie Sequel is set for release 18 May, 2018.
