Half-Life 2 celebrated its 20th anniversary last year (yeah, you are old), and since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for Valve to announce any sort of follow-up with a 3. Half-Life Alyx released in 2020 for VR to critical acclaim but still, fans wanted more. And while many had since given up hope, it seems we may actually have some sort of evidence that something big is coming in the form of a possible new major entry in the series.

Earlier this week, Mike Shapiro, the voice behind Half-Life’s G-Man, posted to Twitter (now X), a curious message in the form of his character with the tags #Valve, #HalfLife, #GMan, and #2025.

Take a look for yourself below:

The Tweet definitely comes across like a micro-tease of something greater that could be releasing this year. Whether that is Half-Life 3 proper or some other sort of tie-in, this definitely comes across as more than just a playful social media post to increase Shapiro’s profile engagement.

We do not have any definitive proof that something is coming outside of this post, which retains a certain cryptic sense to it but the message itself along with the associated tags are beyond curious. Plus, we would have to assume Shapiro would get slapped down by Gabe for posting something so misleading if it wasn’t significant.

Could this finally be Half-Life 3? Maybe an animated series on Netflix? Maybe a prequel or spin-off? We don’t know enough to stand firm on any of this just yet. But it certainly feels safe to say that something is coming and we have a feeling it might be big.
