If it weren’t for Cartoon Network, specifically the Toonami block, we may never have discovered some of the raddest anime franchises of all time. Rurouni Kenshin, Ronin Warriors, Gundam, Dragon Ball Z, the list goes on and on. Without them, we would not be anywhere close to the well-adjusted, socially acceptable geeks we are today. And lucky for us, one YouTuber has found and published all of their original incredible Toonami intros in HD.
SlimD716, who has just earned a Christmas Card from us for the rest of our lives, has put together some of the best (or more accurately, all) intros for these anime shows that give us chills down our spines. The full list of Dragon Ball Z Toonami intros can be found in Slim’s playlist here, and it includes some of our absolute favorites. If you are looking for a trip down nostalgia avenue, you need to check it out right now along with our selected bunch down below.
From the Midnight Run, to Rising Sun, Slim has them all. With voicework from Steven Blum’s Tom and narrator Peter Cullen (chills, literally chills), and of course the music from composer John Boyd Vigil, Toonami molded us and shaped us, especially those masterpiece intros. For better or worse, we owe a lot to those guys and we thank SlimD716 for affording us the chance to go back and listen to these great intros all over again.
Below is a collection of some of the best intros of all time to some of the greatest animes, also of all time. Feel free to join us from time to time by visiting this page and reliving these epic moments and allowing your arm hair to stand up stiff as it undoubtedly will with each and every replay.
You know, I have to be honest, I shed a tear to some of these. Now enjoy.
