As much as we love Tom Hanks, we have to ask ourselves, “haven’t we seen this before at least a dozen times already?” Nothing about Finch seems remotely interesting when compared to the likes of Wall-E, I Am Legends, Chappie, etc. The post-apocalyptic premise is fairly overdone, even if the “single lone survivor” trope involves a charming actor we know and love. Then the dog companion and a robot partner and the hijinks surrounding their adventures all just seems so… predictable. But, to each their own.
