Despite the many controversies surrounding Warner Bros. and Ezra Miller, their upcoming DCEU film The Flash may end up being the highest-rated comic book film since The Dark Knight trilogy.
According to reports, some early test screenings have been overwhelmingly positive for the movie, generating scores the highest the studio has seen for its DC Comics film franchises since Christopher Nolan was at the helm of the Christian Bale-led Batman movies. These high scores are something the studio desperately needs amidst the many controversies with its lead in Ezra Miller, who is also reportedly seeking help and is on the road to some form of recovery.
The news among these supposedly high scores with audiences comes with the confirmation that Miller met with their representatives and had a meeting with Warner Bros. executives last Wednesday to discuss how they will be handling The Flash‘s release next year on June 23rd, 2023. Miller, along with their agent Scott Metzger, apparently met with Warner Bros. film chairs Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca to talk about everything leading up to this point and, presumably what the future may look like in terms of whether they will continue working with Miller or not as the studio seems to want to distance itself from the troubled actor.
As of this writing, it is rather unclear just how things are going to go with Miller and whether or not they will continue working with Warner Bros. as the film studio has attempted to make clear that they will not be working with them any further. However, that might not be the case after all, depending on the nature of the meeting and if all parties managed to reach an agreement on working together in the future, assuming Miller got the help they desperately seem to be needing.
No details were revealed regarding what was discussed in the meeting so this is all just conjecture at this point but it’s safe to assume a lot was talked about in relation to Miller’s behavior over the last couple of years as well as whether or not they would be parting ways.
Warner Bros. allegedly had no comment on the matter nor did Miller’s representation.
All the drama going on over at Warner Bros., now Warner Bros. Discovery, couldn’t come at a worse time with everything going on with their seemingly cursed comic book films. With Batgirls cancellation, the announcement of a Joker sequel, and the release dates of the sequels for both Aquaman and Shazam! having been pushed back, WBD desperately needs a win. And it appears as though they believe The Flash will be the one film to do just that.
At the end of the day, fans and audiences seem rather divided on whether Ezra Miller should remain in the entertainment business after all their legal troubles and controversy. Whether or not Miller will continue working in film is still up in the air, as it were but the fate of The Flash still remains a theatrical release at this time.
The Flash is scheduled to release on June 23rd, 2023.
