Teen Titans Pilot “Titans” Coming to TNT Network

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he CW network better watch its back, with TNT eyeing another one of DC’s comic properties for a potential live action TV series, this time in the form of the young hero group, the Teen Titans.

The show will be called “Titans“, and if picked up will feature Dick Grayson in the role of his mature alternate identity, Nightwing, leader of such heroes as Starfire and Raven, among others.

Young Justice
The popular animated series, Young Justice featured Dick Grayson as the leader in season 2, when the character transitioned from Robin into the more mature Nightwing. Take it easy, ladies.

Warner Horizon is producing the pilot with Akiva Goldsman (I am Legend and Fringe) writing and executive producing.

Titans would be joining an already growing surge in DC comics properties coming to the television screen; CW’s Arrow and the upcoming Flash spin-off, and even FOX gearing up for the pre-Batman days in their upcoming series Gotham, are just a few of what is being planned for a long and expansive future for comic franchises.

Batman fans will recall having missed out on witnessing the caped crusader coming to television, remembering that the animated Teen Titans television show which aired from ’03-’06 did not feature the Dark Knight, only his protege Robin and later Nightwing, in an episode of time travel.

While we have no news to share regarding casting or whether or not this pilot is coming soon, it shows that cable networks and then some are serious about keeping super heroes around for quite some time, on the big screen and the little one.
