A bloody TV adaptation, a music industry satire and a horror movie within a horror movie feature at this week’s trailer park.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]his week’s most popular trailers are a real mixed bag.
First up is the latest trailer for Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead. The TV show follows on from 1981 film The Evil Dead, and its two sequels, and Bruce Campbell will return as Ash Williams, who has spent the last 30 years avoiding all responsibilities, until he becomes mankind’s only hope when it is attacked by a Deadite plague.
While the trailer shows off Campbell’s funny side, the actor himself has assured long-time Evil Dead fans that there will be plenty of gore to look forward to when the show premieres in October.

Ash vs. Evil Dead was created by Sam Raimi, and will star Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo.
Next up, Nicholas Hoult finally makes the step up to leading man in the first trailer for this year’s Kill Your Friends. The film, based on a book by former record label talent scout John Niven, sees Hoult (Skins, X-Men: First Class) make his way into the Britpop industry in 90’s London, and the trailer is as back-stabby as you’d expect: ‘Imagine you’re standing on wafer-thin ice. Beneath your feet you can see sharks circling. Those are your colleagues. Your friends.’
The dark comedy features an impressive cast of British actors, including Hoult, Ed Skrein and James Corden.

Kill Your Friends opens on November 6th.
Finally, Nina Dobrev and Alexander Ludwig star in The Final Girls, the horror-comedy so meta that it puts Scream to shame. The trailer starts off with the protagonists going to see a movie called Camp Bloodbath (what else?), but when they find themselves trapped inside the screen, they must live out the movie while simultaneously watching it at the cinema. Does that make sense? Just… Just watch the trailer.
The Final Girls hits a theatre inside a theatre on October 9th.
