Here’s the list of the all the winners from the big event.
Last night was the 88th Academy Awards, honoring achievements in film from 2015.
Walking away with the biggest award of the night, Best Picture, was Spotlight, which follows the journalists who uncovered the child sex abuse cover-up by the Catholic Church.
The film stars Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, and a fist-pumping Michael Keaton.
While Spotlight took home Best Picture, the big winner of the night was Mad Max: Fury Road, winning six awards, the most of any film that night.
We, like many others, absolutely loved Fury Road, and we’re glad to see it receive well-deserved accolades. Witness!
As for acting awards, Alicia Vikander won Best Supporting Actress for The Danish Girl, Mark Rylance won Best Supporting Actor for Bridge of Spies, and Brie Larson won Best Actress for Room.
And of course, Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor for his role in The Revenant.
When one meme dies, another is born.
As for the ceremony itself, we thought this year’s Oscars were fairly entertaining. There were strong performances from the nominated Sam Smith and Lady Gaga, and host Chris Rock took every opportunity available to take a jab at the apparent lack of diversity at this year’s event. You can watch his opening monologue here.
Check out the full list of winners from 88th Oscars below (winners are in red).
