Ron Howard+Robert Downey Jr Team-Up for “Pinocchio” Live Action Film

RDJ as Papa Geppetto will be everything you never knew you wanted and more!

[dropcap=small]R[/dropcap]on Howard is getting ready to bring Pinocchio to the big screen. Howard and Warner Bros. Pictures appear to have also set their eyes on having Robert Downey Jr as Papa Geppetto. Ron Howard has also directed A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci code, Angels & Demons, and In the Heart of the Sea. Pinocchio is based of the Italian series The Adventures of Pinocchio by author Carlo Collodi. Walt-Disney has the most famous adaption of Pinocchio with their timeless classic that came out in the 1940’s. Disney is also working with director Guillermo del Toro to bring his Pinocchio adaption to the big screen as well, his would be a 3-D stop-motion film and not a live-action film.

The Pinocchio project has been linked to multiple directors (Ben Stiller, Tim Burton, and Paul Thomas Anderson) so it has also had a collection of writers who have worked on the script as well, Most notably Michael Mitnick (The Giver), Bryan Fuller (Hannibal), and Jane Goldman (Kingsman). The plot is said to follow Robert Downey Jr, as the lead, who is looking for his lost son.

There is no release date for Pinocchio.
