CRYING? WHO’S CRYING?

In addition to the crazy Monsters Inc trailer, we got ANOTHER trailer revealing the new theme song for Kingdom Hearts 3 from Utada Hikaru.

This is HUGE because Utada made the Kingdom Hearts theme song “Simple and Clean” and the KH2 theme song “Sanctuary.” SHE’S BACK, BABY.

The song is called “Don’t Think Twice” in English and “Oath” in Japanese. Both versions are available in the trailers below.

After over a decade of hearing “Simple and Clean” or “Sanctuary” at the start of every spinoff game, I can’t describe how it feels hearing Utada sing a new, beautiful theme.

The trailer also gave us a brief scene with Riku and Mickey, who are searching for Aqua in the Realm of Darkness, following the events of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, in dapper new clothes!

Riku leaves his seeming broken keyblade Way to Dawn in the sand at beach he and Sora visited at the end of KH2, revealing that he is leaving it “in case the other me needs it.”

Hmmmmmm. Riku is probably talking about my boy Riku Replica, the copy of Riku made by Organization XIII to fight Sora during the events of Chain of Memories. Or is this metaphorical and Riku is referring to the Darkness in his heart? Nah, GET HYPED FOR RIKU REPLICA!

Kingdom Hearts 3 comes to PS4 and Xbox One this year.
