Indiana Jones to Return in 2019 with Ford, Spielberg

Indy will return for a fifth instalment, as Disney furthers its bid to take over the world.

A new Indiana Jones movie will hit theatres in July, 2019, Disney has announced. Following the worldwide success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the still-untitled fifth instalment is Disney’s attempt to resurrect the franchise, following 2008’s underwhelming Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Harrison Ford will return, as will director Steven Spielberg, whose involvement was a key factor in rebooting the series, says Disney chairman Alan Horn.

‘It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.

‘Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen.’

Incidentally, Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy, who have worked on all four Indiana Jones films to date, will act as producers.

Although Marshall and Kennedy are adamant that Disney only has one Indiana Jones for the time being, it is expected that the new film will feature a host of younger actors, capable of taking over the franchise once Harrison Ford retires/gets killed off/stops giving a sh*t.

Let’s hope he has a few more action-adventures in him yet. Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford would be like Star Wars without Harrison Ford. And that would never work.

Indiana Jones V is expected out on July 19th, 2019.
