“He may be the most powerful mutant we have ever encountered.”
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he first trailer for FX’s very own Marvel mutant series is here and from the looks of it Legion, which will air on FX sometime in 2017, is on course for becoming a delightful show that stays true to its comic book origins. Starring Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) the show will center around a young man named David who may be mentally ill or something much more. Check out the trailer below!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Legion, or otherwise known as David Haller, he is the son of Professor Charles Xavier. Legion is similar to his father in that he is a mutant with telepathic powers. In the comics, David Haller is a mutant who only unlocked his psionic powers after a truly horrific event occurred which shattered David’s consciousness and the young man developed multiple different personalities. His story can be slightly confusing so it will be interesting to see how the show will explain David’s splintered consciousness and how he becomes one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe. However, the script for Legion was created by Fargo producer Noah Hawley so there is little doubt that the show will end up being an unfortunate failure for FX.
Legion is set to air on FX sometime next year.
