Well known host of “The Late Late Show” Craig Ferguson, announced back in April that he will be retiring from the show. This came as a surprise, as Ferguson was thought to be the next in line to take David Letterman’s place as the host of “The Late Show”; but as we all know, Stephen Colbert will now be taking over those hosting duties, instead of Ferguson. Now, according to The Wrap, British TV star James Corden is poised to replace Ferguson before the end of the year.

James Corden
Meet the new face of Late Late night television.

Though James Corden may not be as well known Stateside, you may have seen him starring in “Begin Again” with Keira Knightley and in trailers for the upcoming film “Into the Woods”. It’s sad to see Ferguson go, but if that’s what he wants, its probably for the best. Only time will tell if Corden can fill the shoes of Ferguson, but he seems up to the task and we feel he’ll make a great host.

“The Late Late Show” is on at 12:35am/11:35pm c on CBS.
