Each week, we plan on giving spotlight to one of our fellow geeks, giving them a chance to show off their most prized collections and their, well… geekiness! This week our geek is Mike Rubino (but he goes by the famed Lorenzo on Instagram, and at work — don’t ask)! We had a look into what he likes to geek over.
Brief summary of collection: Mainly anything from Disney World (or Disney in general), so that includes Star Wars, parks, and film merch. Biggest part of it is probably my souvenir mug collections from Trader Sam’s.
Favorite thing in collection: My ‘World Premiere’ sign that hangs above my bed from the opening of The American Adventure in World Showcase in Epcot Center. It used to hang under the sign, for the attraction, and I found it in a bin for $10.
Favorite geek memory: Really every time I show up to work. I’m a character attendant at Disney World, so my job is basically to hang out with Disney characters and help them meet guests in the park.
Favorite game: My favorite game is Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I have the limited edition Animal Crossing 3DS XL and I bring it to work to keep in my character attendant pouch so I can get StreetPasses, all day, while I work.
Favorite movie: My favorite movie is Who Framed Roger Rabbit!, by far. Eddie Valiant is everything a character attendant should aspire to be.
Favorite comic book/character: I rarely read comics, but I love the Darkwing Duck comics. They’re coming back, soon, so I’m looking forward to that.
Favorite TV show: My favorite TV show is probably Arrested Development. It’s ridiculously quotable, especially when I’m working in the Mexico Pavilion.
