Holy crap. Did anyone see this coming?!
During today’s Nintendo Direct, Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII was revealed as an upcoming DLC character for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.
During his reveal trailer, Cloud uses a variety of iconic moves with his Buster Sword, and Limit Breaks like Omnislash.
The trailer also showcased a beautiful looking Midgar stage, and chocobo Mii Fighter costumes.
This marks the first Final Fantasy character to appear in Smash Bros., let alone a character who hasn’t appeared on a Nintendo platform, excluding Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
Also revealed was a Smash Bros. Special Broadcast coming in December! More characters coming, perhaps?
No release date was mentioned for this DLC, but expect more info in December, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.
