He’s the leader of the bunch. You know him well. He’s finally back to kick some tail!

King Kong is back! He’s bigger! Faster! And stronger too! Alright that’s enough…

The first trailer for Kong: Skull Island dropped during Comic-Con.

Check it out below.

Set in the 70’s, the film follows a crew of explorers who discover a mysterious and dangerous island…home to the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Starring in the film is Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Goodman. Indie director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) will direct.

The trailer itself, vivid and intense, keeps the titular Kong out of sight until briefly towards the end. There we see this version of the King is much much bigger than any previous incarnation.

This change in size is probably for the best, though. Legendary Pictures is planning a crossover film between this new Kong and the 2014 Hollywood version of the King of Monsters with Godzilla vs. Kong, set to release in 2020, so at least the fight will be a little less one-sided now.

Anyway, this trailer has sold us on the new Kong, and we’re excited to see him kick some tail.

Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
