Kripke’s announcement puts an end to speculation about the series’ future, which intensified after Amazon renewed “The Boys” for a fifth season shortly before the promotional tour for Season 4. Earlier in June, Kripke hinted in interviews that the series might extend beyond five seasons, but the recent script reveal confirms the plan for a definitive conclusion. And while the main show in the VCU is wrapping up, a handful of other spin-offs will carry on, including Gen V and an upcoming series tentatively titled ‘The Boys: Mexico‘ is in the works from BlueBeetle writer, Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer with Star Wars: Andor actor Diego Luna attached.
The Boys, which premiered in 2019, is set in a world dominated by the powerful superhero corporation Vought. The series follows the intense conflict between the superpowered “supes” and “The Boys,” a group of human civilians whose lives have been severely impacted by the supes. The star-studded cast includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti.
Season 4 of “The Boys” is set to premiere on June 13 with three initial episodes, followed by weekly releases. The official synopsis reveals that Victoria Neuman is getting closer to the Oval Office under Homelander’s influence, while Butcher and his team face higher stakes in their mission to save the world.
