A new Batman:Arkham Knight DLC allows players to play as Batgirl in a set of side missions separate from the normal story line.

Although Batman: Arkham Knight is still unavailable to PC users through the Steam Store, Warner Bros. has been hard at work with a DLC and improvements for the game. It was recently announced that a DLC would be available on July 14th that allowed Xbox One and PS4 users to play as Batgirl in the Arkham Knight video game.
The new DLC will allow players to play as Batgirl in a number of side missions that take place before the events that happened in Batman: Arkham Asylum. In the DLC, Batgirl teams up with Robin in order to go on a mission to help rescue Batgirl’s father, Commissioner Gordon. Gordon has been kidnapped by the Joker and the rescue takes place in a new area called the Seagate Amusement Park. The new area has an overall nautical theme that is located on top of an oil rig that is crawling with traps and cronies along the way.
Justin Vazquez, the creator of the DLC, had a number of things to say about creating the new content. Vazquez claimed that, “[the creators] wanted to recreate the feeling of being trapped in a bizarre and unique environment playing a game of cat and mouse with the joker…Hacking is what really separates her from the other characters. It’s gameplay mechanic with which the player can create situations for Batgirl to really shine.” Vazquez wanted to make the DLC unique to Batgirl where she could utilize her strengths and gadgets in a way where Batman would not be able to do the same.
No word of the DLC showing up on the PC version has been discussed currently seeing as the PC version is still having issues. The game still is unavailable on the Steam Store and in the Steam Store a message shows that the game will be available in Fall 2015. New rumors are floating around that Warner Bros. knew about the PC problems before the release of the game but this has neither been confirmed nor denied.
The DLC has been described as being “a love letter to the original game that started the incredible franchise.” The add-on will be titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family has a price tag of $6.99 in the North America and those who have already purchased the Arkham Knight DLC season pass (price: $39.99) will get this DLC for free with the season pass. Season pass holders will be able to play this DLC on July 14th, while general purchases of the game will be available a week later on July 21st.
