Summit and Lionsgate Studios have made the announcement and it couldn’t be more blunt, “There will be a John Wick 2.”
[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]ohn Wick was the perfect blend of badass story and beautifully shot cinematography, one of the best Keanu Reeves movies we have seen in a while. He has really come into his own with his portrayal of the dog-loving kick-ass gun for hire, as if it was the part he was born to play.
Legendary assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) retired from his violent career after marrying the love of his life. Her sudden death leaves John in deep mourning. When sadistic mobster Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) and his thugs steal John’s prized car and kill the puppy that was a last gift from his wife, John unleashes the remorseless killing machine within and seeks vengeance.
What, surprised this movie didn’t actually suck? We’d be lying if we said we weren’t surprised.
The movie was well-directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski who have confirmed that they will be back to direct the sequel. With Leitch and Stahelski having stunt performance in their background, you get a special way of looking at the movie to more appreciate the action in the film.
Writer Derek Kolstad will also be back, and has a script that hints at a bigger world in some fun new ways. Not much else is know about the upcoming sequel, no dates have been set yet but we hope that it won’t be to long until we get some information about John Wick 2.
John Wick 2 will be directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, release date is TBA.
