This movie will be directed by two directors, as opposed to the traditional one!
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]ccording to a recent press tour by Marvel, they have found a director for Captain Marvel. Or rather two directors. Marvel hired Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to direct Captain Marvel, first reported by Variety.
Boden and Fleck have worked with each other before on Mississippi Grind and Half Nelson. Hiring them ends what was a straining process for Marvel to find a director for Captain Marvel. Names that they have brought in to fill the director spot included Niki Caro, Rebecca Thomas and even Angelina Jolie.
So far, the only confirmed cast member is Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. There are rumors that Samuel L. Jackson will be cast as Nick Fury, but there’s no official confirmation yet. It would make sense considering he’s been in almost all the Marvel superhero movies to introduce them to the Avengers.
Marvel has said for a long time that they wanted a female director for this movie. Instead, they get two directors to lead the film. Two directors could go either way, but Marvel has done a consistent job of putting together cast members and directing teams for all of their movies. Adding to the fact that Boden and Fleck have directed together before, there’s no doubt that this was a great move by Marvel.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2018!
